How does it work?
The idea is that an individual with memory difficulties and/or their carer would sign up to this online platform before, or after, a dementia or memory loss diagnosis is confirmed. After completing the simple sign up process, the recipient and their carer will have unlimited access to MemoryCOACH’s many useful features and resources.
The MemoryCOACH online platform can be accessed from home via a mobile, tablet or computer.
Support for those with dementia – The platform can offer practical ways to help those with dementia or memory loss to stay healthy and maintain their cognitive ability. Using the latest dementia research, the virtual coach works with the individual providing cognitive stimulation, games, and accounting for their personal needs. This, in turn, will encourage healthy habits, prompt regular exercise, and allow them to create relationships with others also living with the disease.
Support for dementia carers – Mental resilience games, health habits, and a personal dementia/memory coach that talks to them about the disease, and helps the carer to understand symptoms, signposts to create a peer to peer support space.
“I cannot speak highly enough of Atlas. All the staff are so caring, patient and supportive. It gave my husband a place to have fun, stimulation, friendships and it also gave me peace of mind.”
– Kerry, Wife
Who can benefit from memory care help through MemoryCOACH?
Our online dementia care service has been designed for individuals with memory difficulties, as well as their carers. Time has been taken to ensure that it is suitable for a wide range of people and able to support anyone with poor hearing, limited knowledge of computers, fear of screens and a dislike of video conferencing. Whether the individual uses MemoryCOACH independently or with the help of a carer, we have ensured that it is simple to set up, easy to use and provides a meaningful way of engaging and participating in activities with others like themselves. We are remote experts and can work with you in the home or out of it.
For the individual: Those living with memory difficulties or dementia can sometimes also suffer from loneliness and depression. This online platform creates a sense of community for the individual to help combat these issues within their own home.
For the carer: This offers the carer a chance to read the latest research around memory difficulties and find ideas and practical solutions on how to support the person with dementia.
